    Default Nitek 3 question?

I have a Nitek 3 that I am happy with except for one feature. Is there any way to disable the beeping that it does when the unit hits the water?

Yes. Unfortunately, the smashing of the unit with a hammer disables some of the more useful functions.

I have an HE so it’s a little different
What do you mean it beeps when it hits the water?

    Mine beeps:
    going into deco
    Assent warning
At surface when PPO2 is to low (14/50 as gas one)

It beeps when it goes underwater, and it beeps when it comes out of water. So when you are getting in and kitting up, doing the pre-dive briefing and so forth, it seems to be beeping constantly. The Nitek Plus does the same thing. And the way I wear mine (on my wrist seal, with the tri-lam folded over protecting it), it beeps for ten minutes after the dive, or until I take it off.

I remember John O. looking at me like he wanted to drown me in my cave class because the damned thing kept beeping while he was trying to talk to us.
