Manatee closed today for swimming/diving because of an incident ?? Or possibly testing of some sort... Anyone know more about this?

From the park web page (suggesting this is not an ‘incident’ but ongoing):

LIMITED VISITATION AT THIS PARK
Effective April 2, 2021: Manatee Springs State Park is open for day use activities including picnicking and hiking (see hours of operation and fee information below). Swimming and diving are currently closed. The waterfront restroom is closed for renovations, but the family restroom will remain open during this time. The river pavilion boat dock access is closed for repairs until further notice. Motorized vessels are not allowed in the spring run at anytime. Access to the park is available through the main park entrance. Visitors are expected to maintain distances of at least six feet apart.

Over a 3 day weekend?

It may be safety related. It may not. Either way, the parks are not created for income but conservation. Weekends don't matter....3 days or no.

I heard there was a gator attack with minor injuries and they're working on capturing two gators. I wasn't there so I can't verify this, but the info came from a friend who's camping there this weekend.
