Youch. We had a silt out once in the little silty ass circuit behind the bats. When we jumped onto the mainline(thankfully cause going back the way we came would have sucked) flow pushed the cloud of silt out onto the hill 400 line for a few feet till the flow dissipated it. All I hoped was no other team was coming by and saw our plume of silt. To drop the vis on hill 400 is pretty tough to do.

One time I was exiting the Hill 400 line & when we got to the end of that line we could not even see the Gold Line. We had a jump line in and exited, leaving the jump line in place. Vis did not clear up until near the Park Bench. We found out later some "tools" were using a tool digging and searching for a new passageway. It was a Sunday afternoon....

Honestly it is not hard to do in the right areas without using any tools at all, and I can personally attest to that...

Ended up diving Manatee and Jug Hole over the weekend. Hadn't dived Manatee in a long long time, flow was high and visibility wasn't that great, but I'm told conditions are slightly better than they often are. Jug Hole on the other hand was great! I had only ever dived the cavern, but recently switched to sidemount and had been wanting to give this site a go. What a beautiful cave!

Oh, and what is up with the crazy jungle that is the duck weed growing on top of Catfish Hotel, lol. Seemed way thicker than the duckweed at other sites I've dived (e.g., Orange Grove, etc.).

The duckweed on Catfish Hotel (and also on Black Lagoon at Hart) always seems thicker and chunkier than in other places. I don't know why. Different species? Local conditions?

Had to use a chainsaw to get through the duck weed at catfish basin.
