You guys should be happy that there is a forum for cave divers. On every other place 70% of the posts begin (or should begin) with 'I've never been in a cave, but ...'
I complain about pete all the time my dude I just don't post that often.
these threads are of interest to me because I've done an IUCRR recovery before and seen it first hand. The officer on scene never told anyone not to say anything and was barely interested in what we were doing. We were muzzled, and when someone finally provided a report on that one, i wasn't too keen on what they said.

I've done recoveries on both sides of this philosophy. seen it both ways

It's the same stuff on fb over and over again too. Unless you're new to diving it's gets old pretty fast.
But than again, that not what I was getting at.
People that have dive more post less stickers, don't participate in forums because of it, but they then participate in the facebook groups/threads which is hypocritical. Those facbeook groups that are doing similar function to the forums but are not searchable. If people think the same stuff over and over again on here is bad, it's always going to be infinitely worse on facebook because you can't search for historic topics so they start a new one.

I don't think it's because of these stickers. I think it's more likely that the people who have been diving for longer are getting somewhat bored with forums in general because stuff is being repeated over and over again. (I mean how many times do you what to read my ranting about how sh!tty xdeep gear is). And I think the newer and younger crowd tends to go on facebook and maybe reddit more. All dive forums that I'm aware of, including the European once, are much quieter than they used to be.
I don?t get bored of forums. I wish there was more interest in learning, DIY and trial error but there has been so many improvements in gear over the past 10 years it?s hard to post anything about what you are doing without being criticized for messing with life support equipment.

I recently learned about how to create a Fischer cable with swagelok and ferrules, wiring a petrel into a hammerhead, soldering and rebuilding a rebreather head. I was surprised at how simple things were yet there is basically no information out there about it. Before two weeks ago I had no idea what a front and back ferrule was.

Is there interest in getting back to information sharing? Because there is a ton of things that could be shared that I bet many people would like to know.
