I was shocked when I saw a free diver come near me at 105ft .... crazy.
Definitely pretty crazy to see a free diver buzz you at 105 feet. Seems kind of nuts to me as that's obviously deep and quite a ways in!!! At least one free diver was being an absolute dick as well. A couple of us were diving sidemount and were gearing up to the left of the boardwalk (when in the spring and looking at the boardwalk) and the freediver kept complaining that we were going to blow out the basin and destroy the visibility for a week. Called us amatures under his breath as well. Sure enough, we didn't blow out the basin and the visibility was perfect after our dive. My buddy made sure to exclaim out loud at the end of the dive "Wow, the visibility here in the basin is amazing!" lol
I'm still convinced an open water diver is going to die at this site at some point. I found a weight pocket down around 110-120ft in that little side "cavern" off to the left. Not the greatest place to dump weights in my opinion. I'm also pretty convinced a free diver is going to blackout and drown now too!
What's wrong with these freediving kids? Somebody please teach them to share, be respectful, don't make risky stunts, and dial down the attitude!
Any update on Buford and Eagles nest.

Conditions are very good.Basin clear viz 80' plus down to 100' where it starts to get milky. We went to 145' viz 40' to 50'. There were only 2 OW divers and 3 free divers I was surprised at the small number as it was a beautiful day but I guess the Superbowl trumped diving. It's certainly a lot easier to access than it was before the walkway was installed. The free divers kept us entertained while were doing deco. I'm it's a lot less fun when there's a big crowd there. They do need to extend the access ladder though its only 3 rungs which makes exit a PIA.
