DogDiver seemed to make it pretty clear that the Suwannee River Water Management District had/has it as a priority as part of their land conservation efforts as I read it.
Wow, 8 grand just for property tax per year? Seems pretty steep for a property you can't use commercially. What do people buy properties like this for? Hunting?
Under $17k an acre for river-front property and a spring?
Buildable or not... want.

SRWMD does not allow scuba diving on property it owns unless with special permit. Since some folks are not special yet I would rather get back to times with redneck parties and twice a year volunteer cleanups. SWRMD somehow missed privatization of Blue Spring with nice cave in it (next to Royal).
The plan by SRWMD is to turn it over to Suwannee County for park purposes just like Little River and Royal Springs. It will take a few years to restore all the erosion damage done by years of ORV use. Then build parking and rest room facilities like at Little River. All this information is available in the public records of the management district archives.
