So I now have two sidemount reg sets... one is dive rite and has a left hand regulator (what I have dove with since cavern cert) so short left hand hose and a necklace with right hand being on a 7' and alternatively wrapped/clipped without wrapping.... I recently just broke down my two openwater HOG reg sets and converted them to the second set of SM regs... they have dual 7' hoses and require a wrap around the back of my neck.... Honestly I am sort of liking the wrap versus the left hand regulator... bonus that I have 7' hoses on both.

Disclaimer... I am NOT an expert in sidemount...and I did not sleep at a holiday inn express last night.

Why yes that was me in shorts and a t-shirt oops, a drysuit @ the 700' marker

DiveRite and HOG I believe... there may be more.

I prefer the idea of 7' hoses on both tanks. That way you still donate what you are breathing and its on a long hose. I bring the left tank over my neck and bolt snap it off, and run the right tank straight up to my mouth on a necklace. If you wrap both around your neck you can run the chance of them trapping each other. I also keep three bands on my right tank to keep the short loop of hose nicely stowed.

Ive also been playing with a left fed reg (also on a 7' hose) and like the idea of not needing to cross my neck with it. You would want 3 bands on both tanks to keep things nicely stowed.

Just how I do things, for what its worth.

I don't understand "trapping" but I've found that once they are laying... I don't cross them up..... though I see how it could happen. Initially dual 7' hoses were just to much to handle... I'll have to try your configuration.

I like having the short hose on a 90 and the long hose straight, it makes it immediate and foolproof to identify by touch which one is in my mouth at any given moment.
