    Default Joe's n Merry's sinks property

Stopped by yesterday and have seen that the property is scheduled for re-zoning from AG to whole bunch of the specific types: single conmmercial, residential, ...etc. Re-zonings are normally happen when somebody bought or having a strong interest of buying the land. Are we expecting new diveshop, hotel and a divesite soon? Right one street block down from the "the Hymalaias of cavediving".

Joe and Marys sinks aren't the best sinks, but with some concise planning I am sure that with enough commercial effort they could cause issues with Diepolder soon enough...

    Default Sorry to say

I'm thinking they will get grouted and filled and built around.

Hernando County has a wellfield that runs along the powerline, so there are wellfield protection issues that should protect the sinks from total destruction.

The area has been posted and the gates re-erected. It's pretty much off limits now. I didn't try the back way into Lost 40 though.

Another couple of dive sites gone.

Joe, I heard that they were going to open them up as a water park, kinda along the lines of Weeki Wachee. There will be a few differences

Instead or 'mermaids", joe & marys will have "mudmaids"
Instead of glass bottom boats, there will be just one acrylic bottomed kayak for rent.
Instead of advertizing clear water, the management will advertize "Water Cold Enough to Freeze your Nards Off"
Instead of T shirts with mermaids on it, joe and marys t shirt will be solid silt brown, with the caption "Our Mudmaids Are Waiting for YOU"

Other than those minor differences, it will be just the same.

    When you're feeling really good
    There's always a pigeon
That'll come shiat on your hood?" John Prine 4-7-2020
