Bill's alive! Need to get them to update your screenname though.

scubadude, I guess the obvious answer is 14 days, but that's if it could even survive going through the compressor. It gets REAL hot inside those cylinders....

I don't think the virus can live outside the body for long. We've been told it mostly travels directly from person to person by droplet infection. The 14 days is the period in which you have already picked up the virus and are contagious but haven't got any symptoms (yet).
Right now we're being told to keep a distance of at least 6 feet from other people or just stay home if you can... whether you have any symptoms or not.

From tomorrow on, here in Germany, only grocery stores, pharmacies, drugstores and gas stations are allowed to open. Everything else is basically shut down by the Government... they're batten down the hatches over here. There haven't been many cases in my areas and I hope it'll stay that way.

Check the CDC web site. Reportedly the virus can survive on hard surfaces for up to several days but is killed by alcohol and other disinfectants. They didn't mention scuba tanks.

San Francisco just went on mandatory stay at home for all, together with much of the state. All businesses must close except for food/pharmacy/city services.
