I guess that was his point though.. You state was quite normal to do it..
While it should not be normal at all to do it without having the exit verified yourself which according your description earlier of the dive you did in 2017 it sounds like you had not verified yourself. You followed a local guide and if you did so without having verified the exit this makes it a trust me dive..

Not wanting to snipe or so.. just trying to have you reconsider what you had stated as you claim these are words put in your mouth.

This is a sad accident and maybe if contibued any discussion about trust me aspects in regards to exiting syphons should be split off..

In regards to accident analysis there might be correlations though. If the team had not verified the exit and was doing the traverse this fact would be a contributing factor.. Would be good to get some insight into the dive plan the team had..
