Buford was nice yesterday, with no one else there but my buddy and I (both first timers to the site). The surface was clear, between 10-15 feet and down to about 60 feet there was a green haze (not sure about below that, as I didn't go to the bottom, and he only went to about 80-85 feet) but viz was still pretty good. Carts made it a breeze to move equipment and it was easy to gear up on the platform. Found some tannic in-flow about 50 feet down and as predicted with the boardwalk being put in place... some graffiti on the limestone.![]()

No carts there. I actually bought a nice cart years ago because a buddy and I would go every once in a while. It's not necessary, but the initial walk is long and the cart is nice. Years ago there was a huge tree across the walking path that you had to lift the cart over. I'm not sure if that's been removed or not. It's been a couple years since I've been. I actually thought about leaving the cart there with a code for us to use like Jug, but I have a feeling it will either get stolen or abused by non-cave divers that frequent there.
Since I've been going, there's only a line that makes a circuit within the cavern. There's also been grafitti carved into the rocks on the right side for a while. Not sure if that's the grafitti SixFeet was referring to.
I saw that line as well. The graffiti may have been the rocks on the right side, not sure where exactly it was.
And we both brought our own carts. Definitely a necessity with sidemount gear!

Was thinking about a cavern dive at Buford tomorrow but there looks like rain in the area from now until early tomorrow. I have concerns about the condition of the parking area to the deck and how fast rain may cause visibility issues. Thoughts from some of you who know more about it than me. Thanks.
Safe diving,
