    Default Madison Blue Map

I'm looking for a complete map of Madison. The one of have from CDS does not show the link from the Crossunder to the Courtyard. There is a somewhat incomplete map on the Florida cave, cavern & sinkhole site, but it cannot be copied. Plus it seems hard to follow.

Another question is the numbered "cookies" in the Crossunder tunnel. I assume the are survey markers. Who put them in and would you eMail me with information on them. Thanks, Ken.

Hey Ken, I would bet the numbered cookies belong to Wayne Kinard. He is heading up a group that is re-surveying the cave under permit to the Florida DEP. He and his group are doing a complete map of the system that when finished will be donated to the Cave Diving Museum and Library to sell as a fund raiser. Wayne is our the BOD of the Museum.

We are also coming out with a historic map of Chips hole soon. Until then you can stop by the museum and I will show you the two maps that we have. The maps do have some inaccurate data on them but show that area you want to see. Cindy Butler

    Default chips hole

Isn't Chip's Hole closed to cave divers? Or is it just to the general cave diving public not affiliated with a specific exploration group? I've heard pretty cool stuff about this cave, but am depressed it can't be dove.

The numbered markers (yellow cookies) in the Crossunder are for monitoring of the system and taking water samples. Please do not disturb them!

I just updated the CDS map of Madison with all the data gathered by Sheck Exley et. al. in the Courtyard and beyond and the Crossunder data. I'll be sending it to them this week and hopefully it will be available soon thereafter.

Wayne Kinard and company will be updating and adding to it soon I hope. Just looking at it, there seem to be a lot that needs filling in.

    Mike,

As always... thanks for the hard work you and the wife (and members you work with) put in for mapping and surveying caves. It is much appreciated.
