Default Deciphering the Emerald Sink Map

I'm using the same map from CaveAtlas (Thank you CaveAtlas) for Emerald that seems to be in most divers' map files.

Trying to decipher some of the text that has long since been lost in the digital version.

Please refer to image for text in question.

Thanks for any assistance in decoding.

To the best of my memory the map is accurate with depth change and line placement for the trek to black abyss. Not sure of that landmark name. It is worthwhile to do your first trek to the black abyss with good conditions to have an opportunity to appreciate the size of the passage.

    Go dive it like...now.

A ton of rain is in the forecast and the vis will quickly go to ####.

No way. It should be good through the weekend. The rain we got today will be mostly soaked up by the dry ground. The first 15' is pea soup but after that it's good. If we get the expected 1"+ rain between Friday and Saturday... it COULD go under by Monday/Tuesday.

Yeah, tally area was crispy critters for a good while and the first but of rain will just get soaked up. It just doesn’t take much to get the creeks flowing :/

I agree, plus when the ground is dry from no rain, the water tends to run off into the multiple sinks versus getting soaked up as much.

Emerald will get an algae bloom when it gets hot, which will give the appearance of the system being blown, sometimes Cheryl is a good indicator.

You're welcome. Just remember to post condition reports!

Also, it is "The White House Sink". I was looking at some other sources and you are correct.

White House Rock. You'll know it when you see it.
