    Default UV-26

Since I seem to be way off on my prices lately. What would a old UV-26 with a broken prop, got broke in the move but can be replaced, and older batteries go for? Is $1700 out of the realm of reason? I paid $2200 for it in 2010 if I remember correctly. Only ever dove in fresh water. Bought it from Edd years ago as it was one of his rental scooters.

Probably under 1k. I have seen some in the $700 to $800 range and they had good props. If it has the SS motor it will help some.

How would I know what motor is has? What am I looking for? The issue is that I am located in NC and for under a $1k it is not worth shipping or driving the darn thing to Florida.

The motor, look for SS logo in the armature under the clear window.

I barely got 1k for mine two years go, it had the new motor, all working blades, and new batteries but interstate brand instead of Genesis.

Take the batteries out to ship it.

If I was buying it I would personally prefer a discount for the broke prop as I prefer the cast aluminum one. These are great scooters and way more scooter than the vast majority of divers ever need. The problem is they think they need the latest and greatest. Battery technology and higher voltage motors have made these scooters bulky dinosaurs in most peoples eyes. These scooters will go 150 to 180 fpm maybe closer to 200 fpm with a LiPo pack approaching 30 volts. The new scooters are close to 300 fpm and smaller / lighter. On a boat the weight makes a big difference but to me in a cave it isn't a big deal. I wish you luck with this.

Thank you for the reply. I noticed that SS does not even make this model anymore. This scooter was super comfortable and stable. I should have unloaded all of my gear when I still lived in Florida. I just thought I would get back into it.

Yeah things have changed since you left. These scooters, bm gear and hid lights are hard to sell these days. Of course drysuits and wetsuits have always been a looser from a resell perspective.

Yeah I see that. I appreciate the sanity check. I am surprised my LED primary light did not fetch more.
