Why is there a for sale sign in front of Alachua Sink? Commercial no less.

Per the listing, it doesn't appear the NSS property is part of the land for sale.
I know one of the guys in that firm and the land that is up for sale is the recently cleared tract to the right of Alachua Sink, as you look at it from the street side. No idea why the sign is directly in front of the sink.
Subdivision construction on that site will have a negative impact, likely a huge negative impact.
Seems like the city should step in and buy the property to protect the water and the integrity of the sink.
Costs way too much money with zero return to buy up land and protect a puddle (how most non divers see it) when they could bring in business which bring In people which bring in taxes which help everything grow.
That is an interstate exit in a town that is going to keep growing because of Gainesville. I'm shocked they haven't filled it in and have a Walmart on top. I hate it but that sink is in a bad spot.
