Blue Springs

Can someone give me a quick run down on the cave diving at Blue Springs near Orange City?

Open water to about 30', cavern to about 55'. Cave beyond that due to loss of light, but not much penetration down at a 45 degree angle to 117'. Massive flow at the bottom, doubt anyone has successfully penetrated beyond that. Several have tried "unsuccessfully" which is a euphemism for dying.

Call them to check if scuba season is still there (they close access to the spring in November). It is a nice spring for freediving but somehow had a history of fatalities both apnea and scuba so park staff is serious about Cards.

I used to love going there then they changed the rules to no water access if a manatee was there. 3 hour drive just to be turned away was not worth it. Think they lost a lot of business because of that.
