Ok, my sarcasm meter has been broken for years. Is somebody really leaving f'ing notes around on lines during an active class? My God.... get a life already.

Yes, they did. It said "your line crossed OVER the gold line."

It completely missed that the student also forgot to do a secondary wrap and his placements sucked pretty bad, but it gave us a good set of talking points.

Question: Why do you pass your reel under another teams line if you need to cross over it?

Answer 1: Because they will likely be coming out before you, and putting your reel under their line will make it easier for them to pull their own reel.

Answer 2: So in a silt-out, they will be able to clearly identify their line because it's the one on top.

Question: How many people have you ever seen removing a gold line on a reel?

    Answer: None.

Proof there's a high percentage of dbags in cave diving. Let me guess they were long gone before you came out to have a rational discussion with them?

I don't think there are tons of them, just the ones who are are VERY vocal and think their *^&# doesn't stink. Most people I've come across in cave country are pleasant people thankfully. None of us are perfect, even the best divers I know sometimes have crap days.

ALL of us were students at one time. Now that we're certified, did we forget all the mistakes we made in class or were we so good that we "never" made mistakes in class?? Probably not! So now we just put our "idiot" hat on and go criticize other divers and instructors. I'm afraid this is not an isolated incident. On any weekend, you can see inflated egos at the local dive sites. Fortunately, most of the guys and gals we meet while diving are really nice folks. "Most"---- but not all.
