That is a 2940 first stage that came on either a cyklon 500 or a Thor/jetstream reg set.

They are not that hard to find. At least a couple on eBay right now. I have a couple that I use on safety/stage bottles because I like the compact size.

Only issue I can think of is getting Viton kits for rebuild. Last time I checked, the Poseidon kit for this as not available in viton, although all the individual metric orings can be cross ref and bought through poseidon. **obviously do your homework on this.,

If you really want a more modern option. There is a variant of the Poseidon Xstream 1st stage that also has the same orientation and is just as compact. I don't recall the model, but I think it was marketed as a stage or deco reg.

I have a full list of all of the metric o-ring sizes that I compiled earlier this year for all of the regulators so you will only have to source the diaphragm and HP seat from Poseidon.

Thanks.. I was working on a similar cross reference chart, but you did a much better job than me tracking down all the odd size orings.

Btw.. that 1st stage pictured above shares a common diaphragm pn#1189 with a couple other models... but it has a unique HP seat pn#2302.

*I don't know if the earlier 2980 cyklon 1stage uses same parts. Tony, the 2980 is the one in your other post.

I am not sure that is a good 1st stage for a SideWinder. The SideWinder is supposed to have an O2 reg with the diaphragm blocked. They come with a 1st stage with a cap over the diaphragm, so it will be constant mass flow, instead of constant IP.

You can fix the IP on these if you so chose. This was done by taking the allen key port used to adjust the IP and tapping it for a bolt. Bit more complicated with the actual O-ring seal, but this is one of the easier ones to seal. If using a needle instead of cmf, obviously it doesn't matter. I would have done it a bit differently than these guys did, but I think this was a first attempt of their design. There are ways to do it to have the bolt sit flush against the top of the first stage if you have access to a lathe

I have caps that fit that first stage, and block water from the diaphragm.

different than the vodka caps that are used to enviro=seal them. Those still allow them to be depth compensated

part of the issue is since that is how you control IP, you have to figure out how to seal it while being able to turn it. Since it isn't pressurized you can tap say 1/8" of the cap and put a shortened port plug in there. That seals it but still leaves the allen key to adjust it. Couple of ways to skin that cat, but if you are using a CMF, having a DS4 is probably the easiest way to handle it
