I have no reason to doubt their claims but video is too easily edited these days to be rock solid proof of anything. Maybe the dive computer profiles would me more credible.
Whatever was accomplished it's still impressive. Even if it wasn't quite 20,000 feet (almost 4 miles) It's still a longer penetration than most of us will ever do. Not to mention the depths.
That was a pretty presumptious first post by MrSpooley. I would have at least greeted everyone first. Maybe you struck a nerve Tegg.
I guess if it wasn't for all this open hostility this Forum would be boring.

While I don't agree with a lot of the political stuff, I will say that that was one hell of a dive, and mucho kudos to the people involved. That kind of BT at that depth is one heck of a dive

Well, most of us will never have the opportunity to do a dive like that, but we can try something that could be pretty challenging. Like a competition where you have four teams of divers at Orange Grove. Each diver has to drink a whole six pack before entering the water. Another six pack is waiting at Challenge, Olsen, and the last six pack waiting on the steps at P1. The first team that drinks all their beer, and makes it to the tailgate wins.

No one can take any credit away from these guys. Truly impressive dives. I watched the first WKPP video at the Cave Diving museum Sunday and was impressed with what all went into that event. Just setting up the deco habitat almost killed a diver and sank one of the glass bottom boats. This one was much more complicated. I personally would love to see the video of it when its done.

As Forest said it went the thread went down fast but not quite where he thought it would go....but I was laughing so hard at Johns last post and the follow up about who would open the zipper I think it would be a shame to close it.
