    Default Manatee.

What's happening at manatee after the storms? I've got a scooter that wants to go out and play.

Check the website or call. The report was state parks in Irma's path were closed until notice. Many had extensive storm damage and no power. Scooter wants to go out and play...got a Frisbee???....LOL

the gages are also offline for manatee. was curious of the flow dynamics. i expect it to be high still. the big wave hasnt reached that far yet. With Suwanee and Santa Fe combined, that will definitely rise!

That doesnt help me any. I live 2 hours from Ginnie or Manatee, so I drive up early in the AM and am back home in the afternoon. Can't do that at JB and don't have enough days off in a row to make it worthwhile.

I was hoping to post a dive report today for Manatee... we arrived about 8:40am... park was at max capacity for cave and open water. So we left. Early birds got the worm today...

That's the biggest reason we always skip manatee. We usually have to dive Sunday's and drive up the 2 hours the morning of. It sucks when you get there at 830 and get turned away.

We drove in from Jax... hoping to hit it when it might have better than normal conditions due to flooding (lower flow and better viz)... we had a great experience doing this back about 4 years ago during flooding and the dive was epic. I'm pretty deterred to go back after today. I sure wish there was a way to pre-register or similar. If nothing else than to save 6 hours in the truck and a disappointed ride home or to a backup dive site.

Hear your frustration, and that is a problem that I understand is being worked on. The only problem is a preregistration system was tried at another park with divers once. The problem occurred that people made reservations, changed their plans, and didn't show or notify the park. So there were cases that nobody showed up and people wanting to dive couldn't.
