Default New US Navy Decompression Table Compared to Old

Does anyone know the reasoning behind the HUGE increase in conservatism in the new US Navy Decompression tables?

The old one was used for decades. I believe it had < 3% incidents of DCI. Is the new conservatism because it's no longer acceptable to have . . .

    EDIT!!! TYPO ALERT - NOT 3% . . . 1.3%

    Political correctness?

3% could really impact a units ability to accomplish a mission. More conservatism keeps you folks healthy and mission ready at a relatively low cost.

Not sure what "political correctness" has to do with it...

    Modern navy is going soft.

The new Tables have so much additional deco, the second dive is ill-advised.

Yeah, yeah, I have dive software, but we have to do it with the tables. . . . . .

3% is pretty high. That's one case of DCI every 33 dives, do you realize that? How many times have gotten bent on your last 100 deco dives?

It sounds like you don't know what 'political correntness' means.
