    Default Worthington steel cylinders

Anyone got any info or owner comments about Worthington cylinders. I have a chance to get a couple of LP 104's at a good price. Any info will be appreciated. Safe diving.

Got a few of the 95's 2 85's and 2 45's. I like them. Have not had a problem with them. Even with my abuse, they still look to be in good condition, just as with most gear, take care of it and it takes care of me. Was able to get them at a great deal and made the most of it. If I could ever find a deal like I did I would do it again. THey might be lighter then PST but then when you ahve to walk a good distance up hill, the weight of just a few pounds is noticable. I do not need any extra weight when diving. I knos that some who have them (104) are lighter then the PST and must add a few pounds for the deco that we get into.

I liked the Fabers better than Worthingtons for 85's as the Fabers are longer and slimmer; the W's are a full 7.25" Dia. I cannot tell that much difference with the 108's. Overall the Worthingtons are very similar to Fabers and can still be found at bargain prices if you look.

    Default hmmm..

I was working at a shop and we had an advertisement from "X-S" scuba and they said they were selling faber 85's,95's,108's for cheap... I ordered two 85's and they turned up to be worthingtons.... I wasn't sure about the confusion of brands, but upon inspection they were rusty on the inside and the outside didn't look like a new galvanized steel should (all shiny) instead they were banged up..... long story short, I sent them back. I have a friend that owns a shop in Iowa and he sells them and says they are great, but I'm siding with Dewayne... I like my fabers, as long as you keep them away from salt water.

I have a set of double 108 worthingtons, got them in early 05, they were new but stamped 04, I just bought two new faber 85 stamped 05, besides the different sizes you cant tell the difference. I got my 108 for $200 each and put a sea elite manifold on them and they work great.

    Default Worthington's

As Pressed Steel doesnt seem to be making cylinders anymore, and Faber dosen't galvenize, I ordered a set of the EX 119's (old 95's) worthingtons. They are considerably heaver than painted Fabers. PST EX series 119's are about 14 pounds heaver than painted Fabers and the Worthington's are about 2 pounds apiece heaver than PST's. With my size and buoyancy charistics, this is not a problem, however, a smaller body weight with less buoyancy might have issues. I have an old set of galvenized Faber 95's sold by Scubapro and these are my number one choice for weight and buoyancy. Too bad Faber didn't follow through with thier planned galvenized cylinders that they had at DEMA a few years ago.

    Default Worthingtons

Based on the info here, I went ahead and bought two of the tanks. Got a great price on them. The website said 104 but they were stamped 108. Shipped without the valves in them, just plastic plugs. A little rust in them but I will tumble them later. The buoyancy worked out nice in the pool.
