When you have to tear your 2nd stages down, 2500 ft from the exit to remove the clay & lose stuff fallen on your head, then you should question your where-abouts as to whether it was worth it in the first place. I tend to shy away from such caves. After all this is supposed to be fun & not work !
Ginnie remains #1 on my list, Telford & Layfayette too are awesome. Madison is on a par with Ginnie. The Lower side of OG is sensitive to rock fall & is a deep dive anyhow, of which I tend to avoid doing. Found karst windows are cool too, but best ck with the land owner first to get permission. It is only respectful & benefits the rest of us. Some new stuff can only be found by ridge walking or other means, but ck the property and land rights first. {Words of Wisdom}
Too dangerous for one person might not be too dangerous for another.
True, but I can show you some that are too dangerous for ANYONE. Example, there is a reason nobody tries to dive Weeki Wachee when the flow is above a certain rate. I have seen springs in the TAG area spouting like a geyser, and throwing rocks 15 feet into the air.
FWIW, I have been at Little River during a rapidly rising flood when there was a whirlpool over the entrance of the cave, sucking the surface level down over a foot.
I've heard rumors of a large room, perhaps a separate system, beneath the crypt. Urban legend?
