Sherwood center isolator body
Not to hijack the thread but if you are looking for extra parts for such a project I have two sherwood dual DIN manifold center sections that I could be convinced to part with. They both consist of the center isolator body, left and right nipples and outer nuts. No internals, just the bodies. One has a little surface corrosion that doesn't show in the picture and the other is really clean.

There is a little bitty o-ring on the end. If you look at my plugs you can see the groove that it sits in.
if you could make up some of these plugs, you could probably make a little $$$... as there seem to be people looking for this solution regularly.
If someone wants to manufacture them and accept the liability that's be fine by me. If someone wants to make some for their own use, that's on them. Either way you're on your own. I do not in any way endorse untrained, unqualified, or unscrupulous machinists, divers, or hobbyists copying my ideas. That said I do not have a patent on these soooo....
But if you want to name them after me I'm fine with that as long as I am not held liable for someone else's actions.
Someone asked me how these seal.
There is a small groove in the end of the nipple. It is kind of hard to make out in the picture above. An o-ring sits in the groove and is compressed against the dome shaped surface of the mating part. If I recall it is a 010 size o-ring that is harder than typical o-rings for this application.
I'll try and post some measurements this week.
