Hollis H-160 DPV throttle delay

The throttle on my H-160 started having a delayed response a while back which turned rapidly into a no response most of the time. Has anyone have any experience with fixing this problem?

I'm not sure if what you mean. Its normal for there to be a slight delay when you pull the trigger and also normal for it to keep running for a second or so after releasing the trigger. As for no response, make sure the battery is fully charged, contacts clean, no broken wires, trigger lock is not engaged etc. I forget how to adjust the reed switch. Mike at DRIS may be able to help.

I recently had this happen to me at ginnie and it left me without a functioning scooter for the rest of the dive. I just clipped it off and continued my dive and grabbed it on the way back. Once I got it to the surface, I stood it up on its rear and it would intermittently function. I took it apart, checked for any loose wires, and repeated a functions check. It was not a loose connection or a dead battery, but I noticed the bolts that hold the battery frame in place were loose enough to allow a slight wobble. Since then, it has functioned properly on land but I've not taken it back to the water yet for a proper test.
And yes the delayed response is normal for throttle engagement and let off, but it is only a minor delay.
