sidemount discussion

its been alittle boring in here lately, seems like everytime i log in there isnt any new threads. so heres something that will hopefully get everyone talking.

for those of you who are diving sidemount, whats your current set up. harness, tank size, regs, exposure protection???? I'm sure everyone has very different anwsers.

heres my setup, that is still being worked on and learned...

Armadillo Harness
Faber 108s with Sea Elite Mirrored Valves
Dive Rite 2500 regs
and Sea Elite Semi-Dry suit

seems to be trimming out great, and even though the armadillo doesnt have alot of lift, it seems fine wearing a semi-dry.

PST LP80s with Scubapro mirrored valves
Scubapro Mark 20/G-250 regs (who could have guessed that?)
DUI TLS-350 drysuit

Trim is effortless. Maybe I just got lucky.

For those of you who are diving sidemount, whats your current set up. harness, tank size, regs, exposure protection????

My setup is different, depending where I am diving. I use tanks from 14cf up to 104cf. I use different regs for sumps than for big cave. I wear a wetsuit, if I am going to have to walk. I wear a drysuit, if the dive is going to require deco. My harness is "custom"

I'm in the process of building mine.

Currently I have a dive rite transpac and the trek wing is on order. I haven't gotten around to tanks yet. I figure I can worry about that when I actually have a functioning sidemount rig...

Titen, how do you like the semi-dry suit in the caves? I've done mostly wet and have a drysuit I'm borrowing to learn on but may get a semi-dry due to costs and lack of funds...

Joe, you are really starting to worry me. First, you post about how sexy Jordan looks in the dive rite catalog, and now, you talk about some type of cameltoe pack and wearing a G string. Seek Professional Help. Contact Caver95 for his cave diving sensitivity training where you can discuss all of your inner demons, study different chakras, practice your medatation, and do a sneak dive or two, all at the same time.

Maybe that's the problem. I recently spent some time diving with Nick and it was his suggestion to get the Nike g-string since I was only wearing a banana hammock before. The G-String offers more warmth, so I am glad I switched up.

The Jesus Juice is good medication, it soothes the soul.

I found my dive buddy in a similar situation.

Last night his excuse for not diving was "the AC in my house isn't working". That was one of the best "my wife says I can't dive" excuses I have heard. This morning he even told me he got an estimate to repair his AC. I guess he is now replacing his AC unit instead of getting a new 'dillo v2.
