I like to use porcelain beer bottle stoppers, the ones with the wire clamping system like on a grolsch....once the wire is removed there's a nice hole for the line. There are also collectable ones if you wish to get fancy.

Being a retired electronics engineer, I put drilled-out wire nuts on all my reels. Very easy to identify by feel in zero-vis.
Tried to post image of one of my reels, but it did not show up. Sorry.

You can find a ton of objects at a Mitchels . They are a chain and sell craft supplies. I got a bunch of buddas and skulls.
I found some neon colored train engines about the size of a hairball. I got a handful for a couple of dollars. I wish I'd gotten more. I left a couple in some poor sad caves that didn't have any line of their own. If you find them, let me know![]()

Shirley you're not serious? No, I'm not, but do stop calling me Shirley.

I use these for my finger spools/reels. Cheesy but easy to identify my reels.

I had an idea the other day that one might be able to drill out a lego head and use that (but it might be a bit small). My other idea was a spent .45 casing just pop out the primer and run the line thru the hole![]()
