2/13 6:00pm check ceremony at Alachua City Hall for fou parcels around Alachua Sink

There will be a check presentation at Alachua City Hall in the City Council Chambers. The check for $400.000 is for the four parcels around Alachua Sink/Mill Creek Preserve. This is a huge win for Mill Creek Preserve. Establishing a buffer zone and much needed water filtration of storm water flowing into the preserve. These plots of land were zoned heavy industrial and ripe for development. These plots have already been conservation eased by the NSS and can no longer be developed. We are not out of the woods yet(no pun intended) there is still acreage in the watershed to be locked down, but this is a great start. Too many people to thank and some that don't want the attention, but thank you.
