The river is going up fast. The spring will be great for a couple days, but may go under soon.

Time to place bets at what river levels, at the Branford gage/gauge, will LR go under.....

Considering the rapid water rise and depleted aquifer, I put my bet at 14.5-15' (previous years it went under at 16.5-17.5 )

Dove little river today... Amazing conditions. Gin clear water, very minimal flow....like zero need for pull and glide while wearing rebreather and a stage kind of minimal flow. Water level was just below the level of the path around the water when we started... 4 hours later, it was over the walkway and touching the retaining wall. River is rising quickly...

I know in the past I've dove it when the water was about 8 inches over the retaining wall. Much over that and it blows. If the water is rising at that rate it's not going to be long before it starts reversing.

That'll make for an easy ride in, might need help getting out though.

I dove it in February or March 2006 when the river water was 3 or 4 feet over the top of the retaining wall - up to just below the second landing on the stairs, and it was still clear and outflowing. But with the low flow state at the moment, I bet you're right - it'll reverse if the river goes up much more.

Well, shoot... I wanted to check it out while the flow was down this much.

I'm curious, how deep does it get at those water levels? I dove it last week when the water was low, and pretty much the whole Florida room was 100ffw and more. With area shops banking 32%, that might put one over 1.4 PPO2 if on OC, 114ffw.

When the spring had strong flow back in the 90s, it would hold back the river, and you are right you would get that kind of depth, but we were on air. Now, the place will easily reverse, and blow out when approaching these levels.
