On serious note not sure about using it in a cave as it adds to the clutter.

In a few thousand dives, I've never NEEDED to use a purge button.

Recently, I did.

When you NEED the purge button, you aren't carefully finding it and pressing, you're basically slapping the regulator inches away from panic mode.

Anything that restricts access to the purge button is bad.

That is the issue with this thing. During an emergency it could certainly cause issues. I really don't feel it is safe for technical diving.

In this particular case I would be far more concerned with how this diver has been taught to clip stages and that people find this ok rather than if a reg mount is potentially dangerous or not.

I usually let silly stuff like this go and write it off to inexperience, but I just can't let this go. Anyone who has done any technical diving at all should instantly recognize that this is a bad idea and run away screaming. I'm not the cave police, but I would not dive with anyone using this.

I consider my regulators as life support equipment, and become highly important when I am in the overhead. I am not judging other people using them,but am with Joel,and wouldn't want to have them being used on a cave dive with me.

If we have the reg-mount, maybe I will have my million $$$ idea and invent the p-valve mount.

Reg-mount, helmet mount (one looking forward and one looking back), tank-mount, stage-mount, back-mount (one looking up and one down), chest-mount, fin-mount (one on each), selfie-stick, and each buddy carrying one pointed at me.

That way I can go through all the footage of each of them and edit together a 10 minute video with constant wipe cuts and Lynyrd Skynyrd as a soundtrack that no one will watch.

I have to agree, in a true emergency, you will forget all about the camera, and it will be in the way.

Not to mention, there is no advantage over helmet mount, the lights on the helmet are still too close to the camera lens. If you don't want to handhold the camera, then mount it on a helmet, and strap your video light to your primary light. I have been shooting video that way for years. Short of a handheld professional camera, and several video lights held by other divers, it is the best solution.
