John L and I did a sidemount dive there at about 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, April 5th. I was hoping for better visibility than Lonestarfl and I had when we dived it on Monday, March 27th, but it was not to be.

As soon as we dropped down into the first room, we were met with heavy tannic water and about 15' visibility. It did not improve much as we negotiated the shortcut tunnel to the snap-and-gap at p300'.

We proceeded west down Mainstreet and detected no noticable flow. The halocline was at about 90', so we had to deal with that for much of the swim down Mainstreet.

When we reached the "T" in the line, we took the right fork because John had never been that way before and it had been several years since I had.

About 100' down that tunnel, John plowed through a tight, silty restriction and completely blew it out. I was unable to find my way through it, so I backed up and turned around and waited for John to return.

We returned to the "T" and decided against going down the left fork. We returned to the snap-and-gap and the shortcut tunnel.

By the time we exited into the basin, we had been down for 58 minutes. We made 2 decompression stops(5 minutes at 20' and 10 minutes at 10'), then we surfaced.

The gas mix used was EANx 32.
