    Unhappy

You are right, we went to Wayaka today. Whatever we do, we keep preservation number 1, number 2 will be research, because we have no clue how these caves affect the Bonairian ecosystem.

Unfortunately the road along the airport fence is close off, so there is no easy way to get to the mailbox now.

I can assure you, it still looks the same. But as you say, we need to be careful, because I have seen the damage done to it, a lot of the sandy cones in the beginning of the cave are gone.

Here is the entrance dec last year...

I am assuming you are going into Wayaka from Ale showing you? what is the status? You guys realize all of the data and Sond studies are on Curacau correct? and I know they have not released anything. We had some cave entrances covered up as found just because I was afraid this would happen so I balked at giving any more out. After sending someone in Wayaka and found the location had been given up when Burges line arrows were found. I knew when I told Ale where to go that at that point it had become a sacrificial cave as was the Airport cave. I see no way Wayaka can be protected. There will always be someone willing to hump the bush. I was called last week about what was happening on Bonaire and asked about what to do when the videos showed up. I guess it's time to send someone out to check on the closed up ones and at this point I have no idea how to protect them other than passing it through a few trusted.

Yago was the one bringing me to the caves. Ale and Taman, are together with Yago the driving force behind caribss.

The status is, as it was a couple of years ago. So the lines still run over each other and you have the spiderweb. However Yago and I found a promissing passage way, but we need to bring specialized tools to progress. Unfortunately Yago left the island.
There is no map whatsoever, let alone that we could do sampling.

Well, the exact location of Wayaka is kept a secret, because cave divers visiting the island for years do not know its location, where they all have found the mailbox.
We want to keep it that way, footage published, will be published without any location info. But we need to bring divers in, to do the documentation and survey work.

That is one of the goals of the caribss project.

Sounds pretty much exactly like the Mallorca story. IMHO, the only thing you can do is to asked people not to post any footage on youtube and facebook. Once agencies start posting about it on their facebook page LOTS of people going to see it.

What I meant by this, is that the amazing footage has gone online, as planned and agreed by our team.
