    Default Martz Is Open!

The NFSA is very pleased that the work at Martz sink at Madison Blue Springs State Park has passed inspection and the site is again open for diving! Once again, thank you to everyone who helped make this possible. Our plans are to add a few more handitreads and install a bench on the lower deck in the near future. Also, we still need to install a section of hand rail on the lower run of stairs.

When entering, please be aware that the stairs to the water enter at a different angle and in order to make the steps a little less steep, the last step is now over open water. Will notice that there is a little less room for multiple divers, and with the current low water level, you should be careful entering. When facing the water from the steps, the rocks on the left side will be useful for exiting. Also, we have installed grab bars to aid in entering and exiting.

    Mike

Fantastic Mike! I can't wait to try them out.

Sorry I couldn't help, but I haven't had the use of my left thumb for over a month.

Hurrah! So sorry I could not help (although if I did, you would be fishing sawn-off limbs from Martz to this day. I'm useless at carpentry). Thank you to all who did such an amazing job.

Thank you to all the people who stepped forward to finance this project and then those that came out and volunteered.

The NFSA is proud that we get projects accomplished that have tangible benefits, and this is an example of a project that prevented Martz from being closed. If you are not a member of the NFSA, please give it some thought, because your membership dues provide a benefit you can enjoy.

Thanks to everyone who made this happen. I'm already planning my first trip back to Martz, and I'm planning my buddy's too.
