This is a hard question for me to answer, as I was cave diving before there was any cave diving training. I took an NACD class with Sheck Exley, just when the NACD kicked him out. I was the first NSS-CDS training director but never issued myself a full cave card. I did finally get a Full Cave card from a later NSS-CDS training director, but for the date he put "before cards".
