Default Cavediver "to be" asking questions...again

    Hello all…

As I mentioned in my introductory post a couple of weeks ago, I am just beginning the training for cave diving (Intro class in 8 weeks). Once I have that under my belt, I will be looking for folks to dive with that are willing to make some intro-level dives. But, I was wondering what would be everyone’s recommendations concerning good sites that are a.) worthwhile (interesting, fun diving) in the “Intro” portions of the cave, b.) good for building experience (variety of conditions, etc.), and c.) fairly accessible. Of course, per the forum guidelines, I’m not asking for specific directions/secret/protected/offlimits caves…just some of the more popular places that make for good diving for someone at this level. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

the best thing to do is make friends with the people in your intro class. i was lucky to have the same group of people taking all the cave classes with me intro through full/technical cave, so i always had someone to call to go make a dive with. as for places to go when intro, there are alot place to go play around in a cavern. but if you wanted to poke into the cave acouple hundred feet the best bet would be Ginnie or Peacock. The those caves are relatively larger with decent flow.

i had been a cavern diver for some time before my intro class...the first dive of my intro class we went from peacock 1 to pothole..i remember how far that seemed to me at the time haha
