Default It must be warming up in North Florida... pictures

It must be warming up in Florida... At Peacock Springs this past weekend, I saw a couple big snakes up close and even a gator.

Masix (Manuel) just happend to be in the water near Mr. Gator in PII... with his camera... Click on the picture, in the Pictures Forum (link above) to see a close up of this gator's teeth...

Handling the wildlife is not recommend, but this big black snake kind of fell from the trees into this hands and Manuel was helping to put it back on the ground...

Bob Langley in PI pointing out a snake that is a Regular there, at that spring.

Wonderful to see that the wildlife is flourishing there. Back in 87 I was at Orange grove when it was still wild (no mega ramps). As I walked to the water a gentleman whose posterior portion of his neck had been reddened by ultraviolet light exposure (aka. REDNECK) claimed with authority and satisfaction "Thars a great big wata moccasin down there by da wata, but don't worry, I keeled dit"

    Hey Great Pics!!!
It's always nice to see the Wildlife and see people who don't have an unreasonable fear of them.
I always get a kick out of people who make such a big deal over Alligators, Snakes, etc. and think I'm a lunatic for getting in the water around them. Sharks too. Most of the creatures I encounter are passive and non-aggressive. I respect them and I am wary of their potential to cause me harm but I really do think the danger is overblown.
When I was at Peacock a few years back there was a 3 foot Alligator about 20 feet from the stairs. I had just come up from a dive and there were a couple of European tourists sitting on the stairs with their legs in the water. I thought they had already seen it so I asked them if they had taken a picture. They didn't know what I was talking about so I pointed to the Gator and they screamed and set a new record in the up the stairs 50 yard dash. I really wasn't trying to scare them I just didn't think it was that big of a deal. The commotion made the little El Largotto swim off. Most of them will make a run for it if you move towards them. Not the ones that people feed or really big ones though.
Maybe your pic is of that same little Gator all growed up.

You must be talking about the 450 lb River Beasts that migrate down river on innertubes in the vicinity of the Devils Ear.
Fortunately they are considered exotic species and are not allowed to migrate through or thrive inside State Parks.
