On friday the Super Room looked great, downstream into the Lockwood Tunnel was about 20 feet. Basin was about 30 feet clearer on Friday from Thursday. I was first diver in the water both days so I had a chance to see it before everyone started decos.

Was there yesterday (4/6/06) - The road in is VERY dusty. The basin is very clear & 80% covered in green algae/mung.

We went to the Super Room, vis was at least 70 feet all the way.

I went again to EN today and the visibility has cleared even more. The mung on the surface kept to the far side of the pond and allowed for more sunlight to enter the entrance. This marked my third dive at EN, and it just keeps getting better.

We hit the Superroom, and it was easily 80-100' vis in there. For those who haven't dove EN, it is absolutely breath taking. When I came out of the dip at 270' into the Superroom, I just about let my reg loose as my jaw dropped.

I'm already biting my nails to go back.

During deco, I had a chance to pick through the mung carpet, it has gotten really thick (3 feet in some spots). I thought about how bad it looked and it hit me:

Every time someone dives there, they should, during deco, take a mesh bag (or lobster bag) and fill it with the mung. Eventually it'll get back under control.

(For those who don't know, mung is not native to EN; it is created by the nutrient runoff from various sources).
