I cut the line back from the gold line after my original exploration there. I was a little uneasy about divers attempting to go through the restriction who probably shouldn't, a feeling that subsequently has been proven to be justified. I forget who reconnected it to the gold line, and I was fine with that because I think cutting it back it is not going to make any difference - anyone who wants to go through will be able to find it easily. I understand you want to be seen to be doing something, but you may even make it more attractive to some divers. Beware of the law of unintended consequences.
