Good to hear at least 1 cave diveable. As I don't know any of the caves there, all are fine (if course I have a whishlist, but if not all caves are directly diveable on first day, it can be done later I hope).
How long need caves there to become clear again? The rivers there react directly on rainfall?

All lot depends on the condition of the aquifer. If the aquifer is low, the rising water is prone to backflow into the caves.
If it is high, the pressure of the outflow in the springs will keep them clear for a longer period.

Essentially, a low aquifer gives a flood a lot more space to run into. If those spaces are already full, there's no place for the water to go but to flow overland on the surface.
We live on a giant sponge, sometimes it's saturated and water's running out, sometimes it's dry and absorbent.
