Minor change of plans - we will be at the Ginnie pavilion all day. I know that will make things inconvenient for those wanting to dive the Devil System, but this is a weekend (there will be at least one other group there) and they are giving us the pavilion for free. Folks can do their setting up and diving up by the Little Devil pavilion and walk over to Ginnie for the social and other festivities, then around dark just move their cars and stuff to Ginnie for the evening cookout.
They are comping us the pavilion, and I expect ice and firewood. Also, pay to dive Saturday and get a Sunday wristband free.

Such a good deal, we can live with the inconvenience.

Lynn and I got home last night from an awesome social. Every one of these darned things is different, but the one aspect that never changes is that you never know what to expect.
The original plan was to meet at 11am and start setting up for the cookout, but we were a little late. So a few folks stopped by and, seeing nobody there, went over to Devil's and made a cave dive.
So our noon picnic was sparsely attended. It was great to see friends we haven't seen since last year, but we were disappointed the crowd was so small.
So I went up to Devil's about 2pm and made a great dive. (I really, really love this cave.) And it became obvious why there were so few people at lunch - they was all here!
Anyway, at dark we went back to the Ginnie pavilion and set up for the second cookout. This time we had lots more food and lots more people. And the midnight Galaxy Dive was awesome, as always.
And since Ginnie gave us the second day free, we got up Sunday morning and I made another dive before heading home.
I want to thank a few folks (in no particular order) who made things work out great:
--- everyone who showed up and brought stuff.
--- MichaelAngelo and Jason for manning the grill.
--- BobK for driving down with a big box of glow sticks, even though he had other issues up in Luraville.
--- my lovely wife for doing all the real work while I stood around talking. (This can't be true, can it?)
Very importantly, we had three CDF members who couldn't make it but sent monetary donations - Jax, gschaut, and PDAVIS1. We were able to get so much stuff with these donations. Thank you SO MUCH!
On a personal note, Lynn and I stayed at MichaelAngelo's house instead of having to camp in the cold. Michael, that was so awesome of you!
