Default PST Scuba tanks.... no longer?

I sent an inquiry to PST and got a response that they no longer manufacture scuba tanks. Does anyone have any additional information on this? Or did I contact the wrong source? The site I had contacted was the manufacturing facility out of Wisconsin.

I haven't seen a new PST cylinder in years. About when we started seeing Worthingtons. Did PST possibly sell their manufacturing facility to Worthington?

I don't believe they have made cylinders for the last decade or so and I really didn't believe they were making anything until just now since the website was basically nonexistent the last time I looked.

What did you need from them?

Oh, for reference, Worthington is no longer making scuba tanks either...

Well, it's a good thing I have a garage full of PST LP-80s and LP-95s.

I actually recently bought my first set of Fabers and now have 3.... 45's, 85's, 121's, but still love my PST120's and won't ever get rid of them. Have a couple sets of PST LP72's from way back when, but needed the Faber buoyancy characteristics for sidemount.

The problem will come when the current exemption runs out on the HP tanks if nobody renews. Getting tanks Hydro'd may be problematic. I love my PST HP100s (3500) for bailout and generally sidemount diving they are also my favorite backmount doubles but they are currently split.

the exemption got renewed with no problems sometime within the last 18 months or so IIRC because scubaboard freaked out about it. Thankfully even if PST doesn't renew *Which the DoT will bug them to do*, you can renew as an individual for your tanks. This is a PiTA for everyone, and because of that the DoT will harass PST to get them to renew it so they don't have to deal with every person who owns them

this was the site I went to and inquired... I thought they were still selling scuba tanks, but obviously not anymore..... dang! looks like they still manufacture cylinders, but nothing for diving.

Holy crap dude that's old news. Now for some more up to date tank news that'll blow your britches off, worthington's aren't currently being produced either. The only major steel tank maker is now Faber.
