    Default Worse than Walmart?????

A while ago during a visit to Little River, I turned down 101st road and then headed East on another dirt road towards HWY 129. On the North side of that dirt road were huge piles of Lime Rock and sand and they formed a wall that was at least 30 feet high along the length of this road. I asked about it in general conversation at Cave Excursions East and was told that it was a Lime Rock Quarry and that the do a certain amount of blasting. Some of us surmised that at some point in time this would probably damage the groundwater in this area and maybe even effect the Little River Cave.
I'm sure it's a legal business but I was curious if they got the same uproarious protests as the Super Walmart is getting.
It would seem to me that a 100 acre Lime Rock Quarry blasting with T.N.T. and digging deep into the Earth less than a mile from a beautiful underwater cave like Little River should have raised some concern.
Now I'm no Engineer, Hydrogeologist, or Genius but doesn't a mining operation have a MUCH greater impact to Caves and groundwater than a large retail store?
I may be poking a Hornet's nest but maybe this really is just mostly about "Hating Walmart". Ah, Yes.......selective outrage, It's the American way.

B.T.W. I don't really know if this is a Quarry but that's what some of your locals told me. Maybe it's really just some loony farmer with a Backhoe building the "Great Wall of O'brien"

You know, life's a funny thing.... and so are the ironies you find in it.

Thank you for pointing one of the many out... uncomfortable to look at the facts sometimes, no?

    Yep. That's a big 10-4.
I really would like to know more about this Quarry though as I own some property in this area.
In the mean time I'm of to the Juno Ledge to take advantage of what's left of Lobster season. It ain't Caving........but it's Diving.

Nope. I'm not even the least bit familiar with the Narco Adventures. What is it and how do I read it?

O.K. I found the "Narco Adventures" on the "Fill Station" and started reading. Since I consider myself somewhat of a creative writer I am amused so far and will read the rest of the these storys......But!!!! Based on what I have read so far I'm thinking it may be time to implement a full urinalysis drug testing program for all Forum users. Trust me. It's for your own good. :P

Lol I love it...thanks for the compliments....Actually 'Narco' was concieved from the word: Narcoisis of the deep or 'rapture of the deep' & was intended as a pun to be used to create a psuedo 'super-diver' type hero who is supposed to be the 'Batman' or 'Superman' of our under-world-! I have somewhat of an idea where the context of this script is going, but as Russell said, "knowing me, you just never Know"-! So, it goes on as the ideas are visualized. I would like to be able to produce a movie from the entire story, so long as we can make it look realistic. ....As far as any urinalisis goes, I just had some 10 blood tests done this past winter, & I came up clean, but then you have to wonder if the doctors & nurses are drug free too-! You guys are killing me, but I love it.....thanks.
