Yes, that's where I always leave my O2 bottle too (in the gallery just inside the ear), and never had any issues with it being moved. I personally never even think of touching anyone else's tanks or gear. I wonder what goes through people's minds to make them think it's okay...?

the issue with hiding is if you end up losing all your lights and exit following the line and the bottle isnt on the line then you will be left to grab someone else and hope for the best...

I just leave a pair of ragged old underwear over the valve. No one touches it.

    "Is this thing on?"

That is so remote a chance as to be considered impossible. Or very nearly....

    Buy better lights, maybe.

Fun fact, more people have died due to a cave collapse than have had 3 lights go out when they checked the battery voltage before the dive and it was as expected.

    That is fun!

If you actually consider a hidden deco bottle a problem due to 3 lights failing you are probably the kind of person that checks the voltages pre dive.

    And hunts for bottles.....

Well, almost never. And not at Ginnie, but I don't dive there too much. I was there Sunday and all my bottles were undisturbed.

I had a swimmer one time at JB get very interested in my scooter. I had it and a stage sitting on the floor at the mouth of the cave at about 22' deep. I give the guy props for getting to it on a breath hold. I was hanging in the roof finishing Deco. He swam down and grabbed the scooter and looked around for someone. I blasted him with my primary and it scared him off. Tried looking for him once I got out but it was summer and there were a ton of people there.
