Carole and I hit Cow this morning for the first time in several months. Beautiful place topside, in the sink, and in the cave. Reminded me why I love Cow Springs so much.
With the Suwanee as low as it is, flow is noticeably up. Not "Cow firehose" strong, but makes you work to get to the rope so you can pull. Water level was just below the platform, easy giant stride. Relatively easy exit, since water isn't low enough to make you climb rocks.
After running our line in, we swam the gold line until we could pull. I used nearly a sixth getting there. Another near-sixth while pulling along poor man's scooter got us well past the stratified clay banks.
Viz was excellent, water clear. However going in, some large particulate blowing from upstream. (Percolation from last night's rain?) Back in the basin for safety stops, flow was noticeable toward the downstream side. We didn't dive downstream, but would be a respectable siphon.
Great dive.
