Hi Guy,
I enjoy your blog posts. Keep putting them up. The history of these places is great.
I'm out of town at the moment, so I don't have my dive logs and survey notes handy to confirm details. Edd and I dove cave I around late 2011. Edd had been once previously and dove Cave II. He and his buddy put in maybe a couple hundred feet of line total in some side passages. I'm not sure as I've never been in cave II. On my first dive it was supposed to be just sightseeing trip but we reached the end of the line with plenty of gas and noticed a lead to the right in that same area. Edd spun off whatever was on the reel and we left anxious to return. We went back 2 more times, each time I surveyed the line laid on the previous dive and Edd swam ahead and added more to the mainline. I surveyed about 1400 ft of mainline passage in my 2nd and 3rd dive there and if memory serves there is about another 400 ft of line beyond that. I've never made it back to see the side passages or cave II.
Ben, I would love to get the details from your dive log so that I could add to the spring's history as well as your map data so that we can get a more complete map. I'm leaving for Norway in a few days but will return mid July. Perhaps we can work out a time to get together and add to the spring's history.
Guy
