Typical conditions in the cave, but I wanted to post my early AM dive because the route I chose was a nice twist for me and maybe some other folks might like to try it. I signed in last night for a 0500 dive this morning. I didn't get on site until 0600 though, but still early enough to beat the heat and more importantly, to have the place to myself.
I dove SM 85's, an AL80 stage, scooter, and O2. I scootered on the stage to the 2nd tee and dropped it and the scooter. I then set the 2 jumps to enter King's Canyon the back way. Swam that through the canyon, staying up high until reaching the 3rd tee. I've done this several times, but here comes the twist (for me): I turned downstream and entered the upstream terminus of Queen's Bypass. I don't know why I'd never done that, but it was quite pleasant drifting through instead of swimming up. I popped out at the end, reacquired the GL and swam up through Court Squeeze. After retrieving my jumps, I took the scooter (left the stage there), and went upstream thought the Rabbit Hole to the Trash Room. I dropped the scooter again and jumped left to a little dived offshoot that winds around and pops back out close to Stage Rock. It's a pretty little section that is largely unscarred, although you can still see feeler gauge drag marks here and there. (Aside - please mount your gauges so they won't drag!). Anyway, I got back on GL and drifted back to the scooter, slow ran back to my stage, then hit the trigger hard for the exit. Dive time including deco was about 115 minutes. I never saw another soul in the water, pretty good for a "hookie (sp?) from work" dive!
