    Default Correct

As a retired groundwater geologist we used groundwater models routinely but with extreme caution due to the heterogeneity that most aquifers exhibit. In unconsolidated sand and gravel deposits they can yield somewhat accurate predictions on a large scale but in the karst aquifer environment predictions get very dicey as this paper illustrates. In sum, always take groundwater models with a grain of salt! They are only as good as the data from which they are constructed.
