how about a PDF version that we can get printed out ourselves? I'd love to have a large map!

^^ i pm'd Jason earlier on this exact suggestion! If the drawings are vector based, one is free to blow up as big as wanted
DRM / monetization will be a challenge since everyone will share the PDF..
The problem with PDF's is that they can easily be shared among folks that don't appreciate the work that went into the map. I'd actually prefer a digital map, but I don't know how the owner can distribute such, and not have it end up on every website from here to eternity.
I'm not sure what others would think of this idea, but how about a small book layout. With the overall on the inside cover and first page with grid lines over the layout showing which page to turn to for a more detailed larger scale representation of the corresponding grid section?
I realize this would be a radical concept change from the standard cave map, but since you have gone to such great lengths in detail and cartography, perhaps this may become the new standard. Eventually improving the quality and detail of cave maps available? IMHO, this would certainly help in preparing well planned detailed dives, particularly for those who aren't local or don't get to dive on a very frequent basis.
If that doesn't sound feasible, what about making a "laminated folding map" much like the old state and city highway maps we used before GPS?
Just spitballing ideas...
...still playin with Tonka Toys in the sandbox...and blowin bubbles in the water...
crap... You're right. I wonder if there is a way to work with a printer that holds the PDF and prints out the size each person wants. That would be ideal but also probably not cost effective.
