The NSS-CDS does not try to recruit students for cave diving.

We do suggest that the divers we see around the springs enroll in a cavern diving class, we will actively recruit those divers into a cavern class.

The cavern class is intended to educate divers about the hazards of overhead diving. What we are trying to do is to keep untrained divers from doing dangerous things in the caverns and caves. We believe that an educated public is important and that we can provide that education and increase awareness regarding the hazards of overhead diving.

how do you differentiate between actively recruiting for a cavern class being OK, but not for cave diving? I don't believe they are mutually exclusive

Isn't cavern still recreational and cave is technical?

Frank got it right.

The cavern class is intended to educate divers about the hazards of overhead diving. Cavern can be done in recreational gear, Aluminum 80's and a stabilizer jacket bcd. Cave requires tech gear.
