You forgot to mention that we went in as the tide was going out, sucking the whole cave behind it

I had always looked at the tide tables before diving Manatee, I won't fail to check them in the future

Makes sense. Which tide tables do folks check? Does one time the dives at Manatee as "XX minutes before/after low tide at YY location?"

Question how much and how fast a response Manatee has to tidal changes. For example, the Pinetta station north of Madison will be high from rains in south Georgia,but the gauge changes at Madison will go up slowly days later.

It is the river gauge right at the end of the Manatee run. We went in about 9am Saturday, and you can see that both the tide, and the river were dropping.

Outflow is the lowest at the steepest part of the rising tide. It is probably the clearest right before high tide.

That's actually the one at Wilcox. (Suwannee River right next to Fanning Springs)
